Toshiba launches the world’s lightest

Toshiba Gulf FZE announces the launch of the world’s lightest laptop, the 33.8 cm (13.3”) Portégé Z930 Ultrabook, in South Africa. Featuring a versatile set of interfaces and battery life of up to 8 hours, the Portégé Z930 offers portability, durability, and performance for executives, prosumers and those seeking superior mobile performance, all in a slim and sleek design.

“The Portégé Z930, in addition to being the world’s lightest Ultrabook, is also engineered for big things,” says Jorge da Silva, Head of Sales for South Africa. “The combination of superb styling, ultra-portability, performance and power management means that the Z930 is superbly geared for professional and leisure needs.”

Despite its mere 15.9mm high and less than 1.2kgs profile, this ultra slim and light Portégé Z930 sports a plethora of versatile features. The product supports a host of full-size ports including VGA, HDMI and several USB ports for easy, fast connectivity. The latest generation of the SSD (solid state drive) delivers great responsiveness, while its Hi-Speed Start Technology makes the product fully operational within seconds. The product integrates stereo speakers enhanced with SRS Premium Sound 3 that provides rich surround sound and a high-definition webcam that allows for sharp and clear video chats. Its USB Sleep & Charge technology gives users the freedom to power up their smartphones even while the system is powered off.

This Portégé Z930 is also durable and powerful and can handle demanding business applications. Toshiba’s EasyGuard suite of technologies protects your laptop from accidental bumps and spills on the keyboard. The product supports advanced security features including the Trusted Platform Module and a fingerprint reader for convenient yet secure log-in with the swipe of a finger. It also integrates IT management capabilities based on the 3rd generation Intel® Core vPro processor family and delivers intelligent performance with embedded security like disk encryption and password protection.

The Portégé Z930 laptop features the power-saving Toshiba Eco Utility software which allows users to optimise the laptop’s power consumption easily. The product is Energy Star 5.0 qualified.
