Toshiba launches the Qosmio X870

Toshiba Gulf FZE announces the launch of its new gaming flagship the Qosmio X870 in South Africa. Designed with the needs of the demanding power-gamer in mind, the Qosmio X870 offers a blend of pure gaming performance, excellent picture quality and a vibrant sound experience.

The Qosmio X870 comes either with a 43.9cm (17.3’’) HD+ display for excellent 2D rendering or a 3D-enabled Full HD 43.9cm (17.3’’) display supporting the latest NVIDIA 3D Vision active shutter glasses. The gaming machine features a dark silver metallic casing with bright red accents and a red backlit keyboard.

“The Qosmio X870 uses multi-core power which delivers hyper-realistic 3D visuals with true to life scenery and dynamic character effects that delivers cutting-edge technology for high-end gaming and entertainment viewing,” says Jorge da Silva, Head of Sales for South Africa.

The Qosmio X870 is powered by the latest Intel® Quad-core processing technology and the latest NIVIDA GPU generation. Thanks to up to 32GB RAM, it handles the most challenging gaming requirements with ease. The Qosmio X870 features either a large-capacity HDD or a Hybrid HDD with solid state memory support, which ensures fast response times and instant application loading.

Featuring NVIDIA‘s 3D Vision 2 technology, the Qosmio X870 displays 3D pictures in superb quality. There is amazing depth on its 43.9cm (17.3”) Full HD display with a fast response time of only 5ms. The Qosmio X870 comes with the latest NVIDIA 3D Vision® 2 glasses supporting NVIDIA LightBoost technology. This allows users to watch 3D images that are up to two times brighter than they would be with conventional 3D display technologies. Plus, they allow deep immersion into 3D games through lenses that are larger than those of first-generation glasses. This results in a wider viewing area and improved external light blocking.

The Qosmio X870 is equipped with powerful 2 x 2 harman/kardon® stereo speakers under the harman/kardon® branded speaker grills. The speakers support Slipstream technology allowing the bass to achieve high outputs with low distortions for a powerful and vibrant sound experience. In addition, both laptops come with the SRS Premium Sound 3D™ audio enhancement application, which delivers a vivid surround sound experience.

The Qosmio X870 is an ideal partner to any 3D-TV. Its HDMI® interface makes it possible to stream 3D content stored on the laptop or on an optical disc directly to a 3D-TV, enabling users to enjoy 3D games or videos on the large TV screen. In addition, the Qosmio X870 is able to add the third dimension to 2D content and to stream the 3D rendered film to a connected 3D-TV.

The red and dark silver metallic aluminium casing with a textured finish gives the Qosmio X870 true gaming machine identity. The dark silver metallic surfaces, which contrast with the bright red design of the aluminium rim as well as the large red backlit Qosmio logo, highlight its premium look and feel. Subtle lines with rounded edges create a sleek appearance. The red backlit keyboard allows for hassle-free gaming even in a dark environment.

The Qosmio X870 will be available from June, at a recommended retail price starting from R22 999 (incl VAT).
