Toshiba introduces the Satellite L850

Toshiba Gulf FZE announces the launch of its new Satellite L850 in South Africa. Designed for both high-quality multimedia consumption and powerful, sophisticated computing tasks, the Satellite L850 is reinforced by the latest CPU technology and is targeted at users who are looking for a lightweight yet powerful entertainment companion while out and about.

It is a versatile entertainment laptop offering a good balance between portability and a display size that allows convenient working or video consumption. The laptop comes in a set of attractive glossy colours, or with a premium brushed aluminium metal surface.

“The Satellite L850 is the perfect tool for high quality multimedia consumption and sophisticated computing tasks,” says Jorge da Silva, Head of Sales for South Africa. “The latest processing technology coupled with easy portability and a great display size that’s made for video consumption makes this laptop a great accessory to a person’s life.”

The Satellite L850 has all the essentials for a powerful multimedia experience. The laptop features brilliant, high definition TruBrite displays and stereo speakers, supported by SRS Premium Sound HD enhancement technology for immersive surround sound. The laptops come with Toshiba’s picture quality enhancement technology, Resolution+, which works in conjunction with the Blu-ray drive. Together they upgrade standard definition videos and make them look like near-high definition, improving sharpness and colours in real-time.

The laptop comes with a broad selection of ports and interfaces, leaving nothing to be desired. It provides high-speed access to networks via Gigabit Ethernet or WLAN and features USB 3.0 with data rates up to 5Gbit/s, which is roughly 10 times faster than USB 2.0. The laptop also comes with Bluetooth 4.0. This new Bluetooth standard can handle various configurations assigned to dedicated devices paired with the laptop: for instance, it allows for power-saving synchronisation with a smartphone with slower data rates but can also deliver fast data sync connections with data rates up to 24Mbit/s to transfer even large picture files within a second. The Satellite L850 can connect to TVs via HDMI in order to display videos in the living room on a larger screen.

The Satellite L850 will be available in four colours (glossy black, sliver, red, and blue) from June at a recommended retail price starting from R8 499 (incl VAT).
